Coverage across FK7 / FK8 / FK9
Stirling is a straight run south from our Crieff yard down the A9 onto the M9 — about forty minutes to Causewayhead and the city centre. We work across FK7, FK8 and FK9, from the Old Town below the Castle and Kings Park, through Bridge of Allan and Causewayhead, out to Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Cornton, Raploch, Whins of Milton and the surrounding rural properties toward Fintry, Doune and Blair Drummond.
Response times to Stirling
Most FK7–FK9 enquiries are quoted within two to three working days. Booked works start within one to three weeks depending on tree-surgery scheduling and materials. Safety-critical callouts — a fallen limb, a fence flattened by wind — are triaged inside the working week (Mon–Sun, 8am–6pm) and given priority slots.
Familiarity with Stirling property types
Stirling has three quite different garden populations sitting on top of each other. The Old Town and Kings Park carry Victorian and Edwardian sandstone plots with mature specimen trees planted 100+ years ago. The 1930s–70s expansion — St Ninians, Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Raploch — sits on heavier ground with standard panel-fence boundaries and mid-life trees now oversized for the plot. The Bridge of Allan and University belt is bigger gardens on sloping ground with drainage and terracing issues. We work all three and know what each actually needs.

Pressure-treated close-board and ranch-style fencing replacing the wind-hit panelled runs that don't last five years in the Forth valley.

Beech, leylandii, privet and laurel boundary hedges across FK7 and FK8 — annual cuts and full reductions where they've got away from the owner.

Full-depth gravel drives and pathways with proper drainage and edging — common request on the larger Bridge of Allan and rural FK9 plots, not a scatter over membrane.

Stirling plots we work on.
Old Town & Kings Park sandstone terraces
Long, often stepped rear gardens with mature boundary trees planted before anyone considered setbacks. Rear access frequently means a shared close or side gate — we bring cordless kit and small chippers so nothing needs to be dragged through the house.
Bridge of Allan & University belt (FK9)
Larger Victorian and Edwardian gardens on sloping ground rising up from the Allan Water. Mature specimen trees, terracing, drainage and boundary hedges are the recurring work. Full transformations are common here.
St Ninians, Bannockburn, Cambusbarron, Raploch (FK7/FK8)
Standard 6ft panelled fence lines rotted at the bottom, council-planted trees now outsized for the plot, and mid-century turf gone thin. We replace fence runs with pressure-treated close-board, reduce or remove trees where they've outgrown the space, and re-lay lawns properly.
Rural fringes (Blair Drummond, Doune, Fintry direction)
Bigger plots, established shelter belts, farm-boundary fencing and gravel accesses of real length. This is where the larger tree work and full landscaping projects come from — plus the exposed boundaries where close-board is the only fence worth building.
What comes up in Stirling.
Forth-valley wind damage
The Forth valley funnels westerlies across Stirling harder than most realise. Panel fences on exposed boundaries get destroyed every 5–8 years. Close-board with concrete-set posts is our default replacement — not another panelled run designed for sheltered conditions.
Mature limes, sycamores & horse chestnut in tight plots
The city's older streets were planted before modern boundary setbacks existed. Roots lift paths, crowns block light, and honey-fungus is common on end-of-life limes. Reductions and dismantles are the two most-quoted tree jobs across FK7 and FK8.
Sloping Bridge of Allan gardens
Water sheeting down clay slopes above the Allan Water takes turf and topsoil with it. Terracing, French drains and proper subsoil prep are what actually make a lawn or path last on these plots — not surface cosmetics.
Overgrown boundary leylandii
Twelve-foot leylandii between two Cambusbarron or Raploch back-gardens is a familiar call. We take them down and dig out the stumps, or reduce and reshape into a managed 5–6ft screen — whichever the neighbour conversation lands on.
Post-storm callouts across the FK area
Named-storm season (Nov–Feb) brings limb failures on older street trees and fence-panel destruction. Safety-critical calls — a branch on a car or blocking a drive — are prioritised inside the working week.
